Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is an evidence-based therapy rooted in psychotherapy, or “talk therapy”. CBT helps people identify inaccurate or disordered thinking and understand how it influences their behaviour. CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented way of developing skills and strategies to help people cope with disorders such as depression, anxiety, addictions and phobias.
At Pryor, Linder and Associates, our therapists are trained to help individuals identify the negative thought patterns that may be contributing to symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction and phobias. They also help individuals connect their patterns of thinking with their moods, behaviours and other physical symptoms. Lastly our therapists can help individuals make meaningful changes to their environments, thoughts and behaviours in order to improve their overall well-being.Pryor, Linder & Associates is introducing group therapy for the treatment of stress and anxiety. Using the cognitive-behavioural approach, our experienced clinicians will teach participants strategies to cope with and reduce the experience of anxiety. Using deep breathing and relaxation, we will teach you to manage the symptoms of anxiety. We will also review related topics including assertiveness, communication, perfectionism and control, and discuss how these concepts relate to the experience of anxiety and stress.
If you suffer from symptoms of anxiety or stress and feel this group would be right for you, please call our offices to set up an assessment interview.
